AI in the public sector: balancing progress and ethics - Luljeta Plakolli-Kasumi's public lecture at UPS

The Ludovika Scholars Program of the University of Public Service will continue in the autumn semester of the academic year 2023/24. Internationally recognized guests of high professional authority who come to the University of Public Service hold public lectures, workshops and professional consultations at our university.

Luljeta Plakolli-Kasumi is the former Acting Rector of the University of Pristina, and currently Acting Vice Dean for International Cooperation and Student Projects at the University's Faculty of Law.

In addition to her university position, she is a lawyer and she was an external legal adviser to the Minister of Infrastructure and Environment of Kosovo. Her legal area of expertise and research largely covers current cybersecurity issues, including the legal aspects of artificial intelligence and the relationship between virtual reality and copyright.

On 11 October 2023, Luljeta Plakolli-Kasumi will give a lecture on the subject of artificial intelligence at our university, entitled AI in the Public Sector: Balancing Progress and Ethics, as part of the course HKHIRA55 - Security of Information Systems and Networks. Her presentation will provide an opportunity to learn about the legal and ethical challenges of using artificial intelligence in the public sector.
