We shape the future – IIS researcher gave a presentation in Szeged

Organised by Mentorháló in Szeged, Árpád Rab gave a presentation on the most important trends of the information society, the understanding of artificial intelligence and how we can shape our future in front of an audience of over 400 people. The presentation was followed by a book signing.

At the beginning of the presentation, he used visions of the future from 120 years ago to show how people dream the future and the mistakes they make, such as not taking into account that technology changes people as they use it, just as people use narratives to shape technology in their own image. This was followed by a presentation of Kondratyev's wave theory and the grand challenge facing humanity, outlining how humanity is preparing to tackle it, through technological, social and economic change.

Árpád Rab examined the operating models and types of artificial intelligence-based systems from the perspective of the solvability of the technology, and analysed their wide-ranging social impact. He drew attention to the importance of asking good questions, which lead to good, constructive answers instead of fear. And with the right answers, we can start to shape our future.
