At the invitation of the UNESCO Chair "Education, Growth and Equality" at the University of Ferrara, Bernát Török, Head of our Institute and Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair on Digital Platforms for Learning Societies, delivered a lecture and discussed research cooperation at a weeklong summer school in Hungary organized by the Italian university.
As part of the European Youth Listening Lab program, which involved Italian and Hungarian students, Bernát Török presented our UNESCO Chair’s research on the role of digital platforms in how people obtain information and the regulatory issues that arise in this context. He also presented relevant data and conclusions from empirical research conducted in recent years. Professor Patrizio Bianchi, Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair at the University of Ferrara, and Valentina Mini, Coordinator of the Italian UNESCO Chair, also gave presentations as part of the program.
Following the presentation, Bernát Török held discussions with representatives of the Italian university about future research cooperation between the two UNESCO Chairs. During the meeting, the first concrete area for cooperation also began to take shape: our Institute’s surveys on the use and perception of new technologies in Central Europe provide valuable data for the Ferrara Chair’s research program, Territorial Learning, Territorial Listening, Structural Change, and Better Policies. Our UNESCO Chair will thus join the Italian university’s program as a new partner.
