Truly Risk-Based Regulation of Artificial Intelligence. How to Implement the EU’s AI Act - presentation and discussion

On 6 September 2024, Martin Ebers, President of the Robotics & AI Law Society (RAILS), Germany and Professor of IT Law at the University of Tartu, will give a presentation on the key issues of the EU AI Act and the risk-based approach of the Act. Professor Ebers is one of the best-known experts on AI regulation in Europe, founder and editor-in-chief of the journal LegalTech, and founder and editor of the Cambridge Forum on AI: Law and Governance.

The aim of the presentation is to critically analyze the recently adopted EU AI Act and the risk-based approach represented by the Act. Among other things, the speaker seeks answers to the question of what the risk-based approach means, is the AI Act really a risk-based approach, what are the practical consequences of complying with the law, and how it will be complied with in the case of GPAIMs (General Purpose AI Models, generative AI).

The event is free to attend but registration is required.
